Nissan is joining the sports car popularity with a redesign to the current Z coupe, which is the 370Z model. While this sports car has provided some thrills, it is now dated and needs some major changes to continue to appeal to its followers. What to Expect for Power in the 2023 Z

The 2023 Nissan Z will have a twin-turbocharged V6 engine under its hood for 400 horsepower. Providing a smooth ride will be a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission to offer that responsive handling you want in a sports car.

For the Performance trim, the Z offers a sporty suspension, upgraded brakes, limited-slip differential to enhance performance. At the same time, faux-suede and power seats showcase the contemporary upscale attitude of the Z.

Technology will continue to advance in the Z with a new touchscreen and a digital gauge display that can be configured by the driver. New systems for driver assistance will be added, too.

One of the big improvements for the Nissan Z is the addition of the 8-inch display, which can be upgraded to the 9-inch version with navigation. Easily monitor your vehicle’s statistics with the 12.3-inch display. Connect a smartphone to the coupe with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay as you expand your entertainment with SiriusXM, played through a six-speaker sound system or upgrade to a premium Bose system.

Safety is standard on the Z with automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Blind spot monitoring makes it safer to move across lanes in heavy traffic. If you accidentally drift into another lane, lane departure warning is standard and sends an alert. Adaptive cruise control is another standard feature to keep you with the flow of traffic as you travel at a set speed.

Ready to Compete

In the past, the 370Z had the Toyota 86 and Mazda MX-5 Miata as their main competitors. This new model will increase pricing and performance to take on the Toyota Supra and similar vehicles.

With a complete redesign, the 2023 Z will have a modern interior and new technology. The Z is expected to go on sale by spring 2022 with a hardtop coupe. A convertible may be in the plan for later. Pricing is expected to be around $40,000 to start out with the top trim running about $10,000 more. Even as the Z takes on the Supra and the Audi TT, it still comes in with a lower price, enhancing its appeal to buyers.
