Bob Moore Nissan Gives Back to the Moore Norman Technology Center for the Next Generation of Technicians
At Bob Moore Nissan, we’re always looking for ways to give back. We’re proud to be a part of the Oklahoma City community, with 15 dealerships serving the entire metro area, including Edmond, Norman, and beyond. We regularly partner with local athletes, charities, and education programs to find ways to impact our community positively. Last month, our Nissan dealership had the pleasure of hosting the Moore Norman Technology Center and their class of Automotive Service Technology students. Moore Norman accepts a range of students looking to make it in the auto industry, from high school students starting their careers to adults looking to make a change. Students are trained to diagnose various automotive issues and use the latest technology to repair those issues. Moore Norman students work on various powertrains, drivetrains, and other auto systems, including electrical and A/C systems. Graduates earn their Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certificate, preparing them for a career in auto repair. Many of those students continue to start their careers at Bob Moore Auto Group!

Moore Norman brought about 30 future technicians to our Nissan dealership, where they had the opportunity to explore our workspaces and build connections with our veteran technicians. We showed the students what a career at Bob Moore looks like and connected them with our service managers across Bob Moore Auto Group to help ensure they have opportunities after graduation. Students also got the chance to tour and connect with staff from our Ford and Cadillac locations. We gave them a behind-the-scenes look at our latest technology and our preparation for upcoming models. Students get a great education at Moore Norman Technology Center, but there are still some things you’ll only find on the floor.

Preparing Future Technicians for The EV Future
One area in which future techs need to be proficient is EV service. The segment is growing rapidly, and students without an EV background could be disadvantaged. To help this class and future classes become experts in the field, we made a $8,373.92 donation to Moore Norman, designated for equipment and training materials so students can learn how to repair electric vehicles. Oklahoma is quickly electrifying our grid, with Bob Moore Auto Group leading the charge. While we need more chargers and infrastructure across the state, we also need the support personnel to service the vehicles as they age.
At Bob Moore Auto Group, we believe in investing in our community. It’s not about increasing market share and driving sales. It’s about making our community a better place to live. Education is crucial to making our city and state a better place to start your career and raise a family. We’ll always look for ways to increase opportunity for everyone. Sometimes, that means expanding education opportunities with Moore Norman. Other times that looks like donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
